M$ hopes that Kinect will give the Xbox 360 S another 5 years in the market.
But if Kinect fails, expect M$ to proceed with the 720 sooner, rather than later.
I'll buy kinect when i see some hard core FIRST PERSON action adventure games on Kinect. Not a moment before...
To me the 360 version looks slightly better.
As much as i would like to see an XBOX 720 next year, or even 2012 - i don't see it happening. M$ have a huge install base with is still growing.
They make smoney on the 360 S console. They make money on Xbox LIVE. And they make money on game sales.
Why would M$ launch another console and lose money again?
I doubt we'll ever see a next gen again.
The costs are just too high for not only the console makers, but for developers as well.

I loved the first 3 games. Even Driver 3.
Sure the on foot missions were crap, but the driving, art systle, graphics, and coolness were amazing.
I'd like to see the franchise up to its best again.
Its an amazing console. And unlike the PS3 slim (which wasn't needed) the 360 S is needed. Desperately.
And unlike the PS3 slim, the 360 S adds features instead of taking them away.

With every update the 360 dashboard looks more and more like a console designed for kids and not adults.

I think they are making a mistake.
They should aim to lauch the PS4 at the same time as the 720. No sense in letting M$ claim 1st or second place again while they're stuck in last place with devs supporting the other platforms because they have shipped more units...
